Now is the time to step into your full power

step into your full power

I didn’t want to write a 2013 “hype” blog. There are enough of those flying around at the moment.

Yet as I find myself contemplating this new year and this new age and what it all means, I can’t help but have a renewed sense of hope for all of us.

I believe that it can be different. I believe that no matter what has happened to us in the past, no matter how many times “we’ve really tried”, that somehow, this time it can be different.

Maybe we’ve gone through all of the experiences of our life just to get to the point where we are right now. That we’ve needed all of those lessons, all of the heartbreak, all of those transitions just so we could have the growth to be the person that we are at this very moment.

You have wisdom inside of you. This isn’t “your first time to the rodeo” as they used to say in the record business. It’s about drawing from that innate wisdom to step into your full power.

“Step into your full power” – What does that really mean?

I can only speak from my own experience. I can only write what occurs to me.

For me, stepping into my full power is:

1) Giving myself time to be in stillness everyday to draw from the strength of the universe. I’ve realized that the only way to experience the infiniteness of myself is to completely slow down, step outside of time, and step deeply into myself. Only by drawing from this place, can I have access to All That Is Knowable.

2) Not hiding. At all. It’s expressing the things I feel called to share in an uninhibited way. It’s sharing “just as I am”. It’s allowing myself to enter the flow and to be the flow. Here I am doing it right now in this moment.

3) Self-love. This is a continual lesson that I keep coming back to, as I tend to be pretty hard on myself. It comes in the form of self-judgment, negative self-talk at times, and even doubt lately. I believe it’s about getting real about our doubt. At times, we all have that voice inside our head that says, “Who do you think you are that you can do this?” Yet, while I know that it’s just one side of my brain trying to do its job, sometimes I think that voice is real. It takes seeing that voice for what it really is to detach from the common doubt that we share, to align myself again with my true self and my highest vision.

And I guess that brings us to the central questions:

What is your vision?

What are your hopes and dreams?

Can they live in a new way?

These are the things for you to ponder. These are the questions that you can only answer yourself. The world is waiting for what you can give by embracing your true purpose.

How much longer will you continue to make us wait?

Now is the time to step into your full power.

What’s going to really make the difference?

What’s really going to make the difference between whether you succeed or fail with your business?

I can only speak from my own experience. I know that when I’m being successful, I’m focusing on what I can give.

It’s sometimes our natural tendency to focus on what we are going to receive as a part of any relationship or endeavor. Receiving is an essential component to the ebb and flow of prosperity. However, it’s easy to misplace our attention to our own needs and desires.

Several months ago, I found out that Eden and I are having a baby. As a man and provider, one aspect of me wanted to just go out and try to make as much money as I could to try to provide the security that I think my family requires. There’s nothing wrong with this, but that thinking can sometimes be based on lack. It’s easy to fall into the trap that “there’s not enough” or “get it while you can because it won’t last”. I’ve learned that when you’re attention is on such things, that you actually block the flow of prosperity. In a meditation recently, I heard very strongly:

“If you want more, GIVE MORE.”

“Give more of your time. Give more of your energy. Give more of yourself in each moment, first to yourself, then to others.”

Now, you know this already. I’m not revealing some huge secret here. But how conscious are you of it as you go about your day?

How did you wake up today? Was it with the thought that you had to do certain things because you have rent or a mortgage to pay? Or was it with the thought of how you could impact someone else because of what you could give or provide to them?

You have so many innate talents and gifts. There is so much that you can offer the world. But it starts with how you respond to your next email. It starts with your choices for the rest of this day.

To enter into the flow of prosperity consciousness is to be aligned with Spirit. It’s allowingyour highest path to unfold. You enter the flow by letting go. Not by trying to force an outcome that you think you need.

Zig Ziglar once said that the secret to getting what you want in life is to help enough other people get what they want.

Here’s a two-minute video of one of my recent speaking engagements where I’m exploring some questions on what will give us greater access to our truest selves. Check it out here:

What will give you greater access to living your truest self?
What will give you greater access to living your truest self?

The Majestic Path is about helping those who are meant to help the world.   One way to measure that is by how many clients you’re actively working with. So how can I help you attract more clients?

The actions required for you to manifest your highest path are unique to you. So whether it’s an exercise to speak more powerfully about what you do, a new strategy to attract your ideal clients, a soul healing to free you from past karma, a gameplan with accountability to have you feeling like you’re on track, an energy clearing session to be in the flow of your actions, a destiny retrieval so that you’re crystal clear of your mission, or creating a personal brand image which is rooted in your truth to ensure that you make your strongest impression: these things are achieved through my one-on-one coaching.

If you’re ready to manifest yourself more broadly, then I hope you’ll be in touch with me.  Since you’re signed up for this newsletter, you’d save $50 off an initial consultation.

About the Course:

As you step fully onto your highest path, being of service to others in their own healing, there are additional tools that can enhance your ability to connect more fully with people to be in action on your soul’s journey.

How can you take the wisdom and methods you’ve learned and offer them as a service to others with integrity, power, and certainty?

This course will open up new ways of creating abundance by removing energetic barriers to being fully visible in the world and manifesting a rich and deep client practice.  It is an entire approach to give you not only the tools, but the certainty of how to step out into the world fully embracing your path.

Led by Four Winds Light Body graduate and nationally-known Life Coach, John Germain Leto, this course is designed to have you attract your ideal clients with grace and ease.  Learn the practical steps to fulfilling your soul’s journey through your life’s work.

There are three primary intentions of the course:

  1. To have the practitioners remove any energetic barriers to being fully visible and known in the world and to activate their highest destiny of being of service.
  2. To have you develop a specific focus for your practice so that it informs how you talk and present what you do.  That precise language will enable you to attract your ideal clients in a way that doesn’t require active pushing.
  3. To create a community of successful practitioners who stand in certainty and receive ongoing support in stepping fully onto your highest path.  We’re going to win by doing this together.

“Our work is not always easily explained or promoted. John’s and Eden’s workshop helped me to return to my practice renewed and inspired. The solid tools they provided, as well as their ongoing support and feedback, have been instrumental in re-visioning, regrounding, and reaffirming my client work and how I present it. The week after I returned from their class, my appointment schedule filled up two weeks out and has stayed that way. I just have to remember to keep saying ‘yes!’”

Completing the Journey – Build a Real Business with your Practice

“Few complete the journey. Many who tread this path stop along the way and are content to be healers and medicine people; but not master shamans.”

-          Alberto Villoldo in Island of the Sun

What does completing the journey look like for you? Is it being satisfied with just completing your training for your own healing or development? Or are you meant to use what you know to be of greatest service to others?

Do you have a full-blown practice of clients that you’re consistently making a difference with? If that’s your intention and you don’t, then why not?

As Alberto mentions in Island of the Sun, we don’t all have to be master Shamans. For some of us, it’s enough to just be a healer knowing that you’re making a difference in the world, doing work that matters. However, what’s going to give you access to being able to do more of the work? It’s no secret that in this day and age, people find out about services and practitioners via the Internet. So how is your web presence? Do you have a presentation that is clear and compelling? Do you receive phone calls each week of people who are interested in your services? If not, why not? People need what you can provide. So why aren’t they calling or emailing you more often? What’s missing?

Perhaps it’s in the way that you present yourself online. As the creator of the Thriving Practice course for the Four Winds Society, I’ve helped a lot of practitioners to structure their websites in a way that works for them. The way I see it, there’s one major question that you need to consider that should drive the strategy of your website.

The question is:  Just how broadly do you want to manifest yourself in the world?

Is it your intent to work primarily with groups, writing books and leading your own seminars with the occasional one-on-one client?

Or is it to have a full client practice spending your days doing mostly individual sessions with the occasional group presentation?

The reason why this matters so much is that depending on your answer, your website should look totally different for each.

If your primary focus is groups, then you need a strategy for your site that speaks to a broad audience with a particular approach. That means that the method that you include in your books or workshops should be relatable to many people regardless of their specific situation in life. Whether they are a 50-year old executive or a 35-year old single mom, your approach and perspective should benefit them. So if this is the case, you need a broad focus that will appeal to many people.

However, if your intent is to have a full client practice with just the occasional group presentation, then you need to identify your ideal client and tailor everything on your site to appeal to that person.

Certainly, if you’re positioned in a way that you can do all things for all people and you’re waiting for someone to google your specific type of healing or coaching in your area, then you might be waiting a while. That’s not the way to consistently attract paying clients or build a real business with your work. To me, determining a focus for your practice and letting that inform the material on your website is the way to go.

You’re probably in one of three places:

1)      You don’t have a website, and you need one. Where do you start?

2)      You have a site, but it’s too general. You’re positioned as a practitioner who can do all things for all people, hence the shotgun approach casting a very wide net and missing almost everybody.

3)      You’re doing a good job with your website of continually attracting your ideal clients, but you need to make some changes to manifest yourself a bit more broadly.

So know where you are and what adjustments you may need to make.   If you’re a revolutionary who’s ready to change the world with your practice by having the most compelling web presence and strategy possible, I’m here to help.  Sometimes, being a good practitioner, walking your path, and being of service is enough.

Where does your inspiration come from?

Last night, I attended Pageant of the Masters, the art show in Laguna Beach that literally brings masterpieces of artwork to life by animating works by Michaelangelo, Da Vinci, Van Gogh and others. It’s a brilliant piece of work that explores some interesting questions about Inspiration and Creativity.

Whatever you’re creating in your life at the moment, whether it’s a business, a family, or work of art, how can it be an “inspired” work?

Where does Inspiration come from?

Does it come from within? Or does it come from someplace else that we have to open ourselves to?

Maybe it’s both, a combination of the two.

“I invent nothing. I rediscover.” – Rodin

Rodin Thinker

I used to think it was about opening oneself up to allow creational energy to flow through. That it really doesn’t originate from us. That we just have to “get enough of ourselves out of the way” to let creativity happen. But now, I’m not so sure about that. I think there’s more to the story.

Maybe it doesn’t exactly originate with us, but just like the process of lightning striking, it may need a conductor – some stream of energy from us that rises up from the earth to meet the lighting in order for the lightning bolt to actually strike. So like the lightning bolt, maybe we need to meet Inspiration half way. We may need to do “something” that puts us in a place to receive that which Spirit is attempting to bring through. But what is that something? Where does it come from? And how can we have greater access to it.

Where does Inspiration come from? – Is it in your coffee? As I take a sip of mine and ponder this question, I’m realizing that this newsletter is going to go out on a Monday morning. I mean, that’s the time when we have to be practical about life, right? That’s the time to “get to it”, to check the bank balances and see what needs to happen this week. Really, is that the time to be sending out a newsletter about Inspiration? Who has time for such questions? If you feel that you just need to “get things done”, then you might want to pay special attention to this next part.

“For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.”

- Van Gogh

van gogh

Nicely said, Vincent. For my part, I can’t say anything with certainty either, but let me take a stab at it. I can only speak from my own experience, so please allow me to share the way that Inspiration has been flowing into me lately:

First, I find a stillpoint within myself.

For me, it’s becoming clear that in order for creation to happen, there must be some kind of void, a stillness for the creational energy to nest into. In meditation, if I am “the gap in between” the thoughts, then maybe that void is me and my thoughts ARE “creational energy”. That’s how important they are. But in order to create, there HAS to be the stillness first. If not, it’s just a hodge-podge, tangled mess of thoughts that won’t be able to create anything.

Second, (I can’t believe I’m trying to put this in a linear fashion by numbering these, but I figured it might help the reader. Actually, if I’ve discovered anything, it’s that creation is about being in the non-linear parts of yourself.) So THAT actually comes second: being in your senses and allowing your feelings to come forth. It’s breathing deeply into your belly and with an acute awareness, noticing.

Then, it’s bringing forth that which you notice. It’s writing it down, moving the pen or the brush, or speaking the word that is there to be spoken. It’s just speaking the truth. Or more accurately, being your own truth and then doing what comes naturally.

So what are you doing today to “plug in” to your own stream of inspiration and creativity that is flowing to you?

What’s in the way of it? What noise do you need to quiet or what can you bring back into balance for yourself so that your creativity can “happen”?

How can you allow the genius within you to unfold?

What’s fueling your creations?

When we seek to create something for ourselves, whether it’s a thriving client practice, artistic project, or even a life of greater connection, we can often try to create it from a place of pure will. We can try to use our own mental strength, determination, or stamina to force a situation to bend to our desire. But that’s not real power. When we open ourselves enough to be able to tap into something far greater and allow THAT to flow through us, then we can source from true power. But we must have the presence to listen to and act on that divine information and guidance.

Below is an experience I had this summer in Mt. Shasta, CA, that exemplifies this concept of Surrender.

I was hiking with my beloved, Eden, and a couple of new friends, Sarah and Jacob, who were guiding us to see the Sacred spots of the area. As we walked, Sarah was telling me about a special spot in an upcoming creek that was said to hold tremendous powers of cleansing for those who waded in.

Even though it was June, there was still a lot of snow on the mountain. Needless to say, the water in the small river was freezing as it flowed down from the glaciers above.

Sarah showed me this sacred spot where I was meant to submerge myself in the water. As I was removing my shirt, something inside me said, “strip down to your bare ass”. So I did. She then showed me how I was to let go and submerge myself completely under the freezing water.

As I approached the water, I could see this particular blue stone below the surface. Something told me that if I could pass this test, then I would be able to have that blue stone under the water.

Sarah then said, “It’s all about the quality of your condition of surrender.”

On my first attempt of trying to surrender, I entered the water. It was so cold that it was like sharp icicles piercing my skin at every inch. I was only able to submerge about ¾ of my body. I just couldn’t take it. I was still fighting with it. I was trying to enter the water with my pure will.

Sarah then said, “You have to fall in love with it.”

So I pondered that on my next attempt. As I was staring at the water, I was thinking, “What happens when you fall in love?”

I thought of my beloved, Eden, and some ideas came to me. When I fell in love with her, it was a desire. But it was something bigger than just a want. I recalled, how just two weeks into our relationship, I wrote a letter to her where I saw and outlined a future with her. This became integral to my thought process. So I then imagined myself as having a future with the water. Seeing that it’s a part of me, I’m a part of it, and how I’d like to develop a greater relationship with the Water element. As I held these thoughts, I entered the water for a second time and I was able to be with it. I was able to tolerate the coldness so that I was able to submerge my entire body for just a couple of seconds, allowing the water to flow through me. The strength of that water flowed through me and as it did, I realized that something greater than myself was flowing through me. Still, I lasted for only a few seconds.

I wanted to make one more attempt. Before submerging myself for a third time, I sat with my experience and lesson from the rattlesnake (see The Rattlesnake Newsletter if you missed it) – that of becoming one with whatever I am trying to master. In this case, becoming one with the Water. I held that thought, closed my eyes, and blended my energies with those of the water. As I went in and became one with the water, I could feel the crystalline energy running through me. I was able to be with the experience under the water for a good 15 seconds this time.

The blue stone I was able to wear around my neck after that day was a reminder of my surrender, of the strength that comes when we allow things to flow through us that are greater than ourselves.

For the next month, I wore that blue stone around my neck, until after a weeklong training in Utah, a friend felt called to gift me a rare, uncut, rose quartz crystal. Something inside me wanted to give her something in return and what immediately occurred to me was the blue stone necklace I had earned. But I paused – I was thinking that I couldn’t possibly give her something so personal and meaningful. But instead of going with my rational mind, I simply listened to my feelings. I slipped the necklace over my head and gave it to her as a gift, briefly telling her the story of how I came in possession of it. As I hugged her afterwards, I realized that the quality of my condition of surrender had just turned into a pure rose quartz crystal.

So for you this day:

Are you trying to force any outcomes?

Are you battling anything, including yourself?

How can you transcend the smallness of your mind to enter the greater flow of WHAT IS?

How can you tap into true power, the universal power that lies in your condition of surrender?

You can have anything you want if you co-create WITH the powers of the Universe.

Creating a Thriving Client Practice

As you step fully onto your highest path, being of service to others, there are additional tools that can enhance your ability to create a thriving client practice.

How can you take the wisdom and methods that you’ve learned and offer them as a service to others with integrity, power, and certainty? How can you connect more fully with people and be in action on your Soul’s journey?

“Challenging” shouldn’t be the word to describe your path as a self-employed professional. Yet that’s what so many people feel once they embark on the path of trying to build their own practice.

What is the Shamanic Path?

People often ask me, “What is the shamanic path all about?”

Well, here’s my answer using the simplest and most plain language that I can muster.

To me, it’s having a daily relationship with your soul and with the entire energy that you carry.

But what does that really mean?

What is YOUR stairway to heaven?

When was the last time you heard the Led Zeppelin song, Stairway to Heaven?

It’s occurred to me that there are some deep spiritual meanings to the lyrics. Here are my ruminations.

Here’s the link to listen to the song:

To me the song is absolutely inspired. But what is an inspired work? I feel that it’s something that didn’t really come from us, but rather through us from someplace else. Like all true creativity, it came from someplace greater than the world we live in.

Even the title of the song has struck me in a new way. I’ve been thinking, “What is a stairway to heaven?”

For me, it’s the method for getting to where we all want to go. It’s the stairway, the steps we take to reach our ultimate destination.
